Una beta de 1,0 significa que tiende a moverse en l\u00ednea con el mercado; 1,5, que oscila un 50 % m\u00e1s en ambas direcciones; 0,5, que se mueve la mitad. La beta es el indicador est\u00e1ndar del riesgo de mercado de un activo, la parte de su volatilidad que viene del mercado mismo en lugar de algo propio de la empresa.<\/p>\n<h2>Ejemplo num\u00e9rico<\/h2>\n<p>El mercado sube un 10 %. Una acci\u00f3n con beta de 1,5 deber\u00eda subir alrededor del 15 %; una acci\u00f3n con beta de 0,6, alrededor del 6 %. Cuando el mercado cae un 10 %, las mismas relaciones valen al rev\u00e9s: la acci\u00f3n de beta alta cae alrededor del 15 %, la de beta baja alrededor del 6 %.
