Si un fondo rinde un 12 % cuando su \u00edndice rinde un 10 %, el 2 % extra es el alfa, la parte atribuida a la habilidad en lugar de a simplemente seguir al mercado. Un alfa positivo significa que batiste al mercado por el riesgo asumido; alfa cero, que lo igualaste; alfa negativo, que te quedaste atr\u00e1s.
