Corre una regresi\u00f3n de los rendimientos de la estrategia contra los rendimientos del mercado. La pendiente es la beta. La intersecci\u00f3n, tras restar la tasa libre de riesgo, es el alpha. El alpha anualizado es lo que la estrategia gan\u00f3 por a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s de contar la exposici\u00f3n al mercado. Un alpha del 3 por ciento significa que tres puntos porcentuales de rendimiento vinieron de habilidad, no de la beta del mercado.<\/p>\n<h2>Ejemplo<\/h2>\n<p>El fondo A rindi\u00f3 18 por ciento en un a\u00f1o. Su beta al S&#038;P 500 era 1,2 durante un a\u00f1o en que el S&#038;P rindi\u00f3 12 por ciento. Rendimiento esperado solo por beta: 12 \u00d7 1,2 = 14,4 por ciento.
