Les contrats lib\u00e8rent les fonds uniquement quand les deux parties r\u00e9v\u00e8lent un secret partag\u00e9, ou remboursent automatiquement si le minuteur expire. L&rsquo;atomicit\u00e9 est math\u00e9matique : il est computationnellement impossible qu&rsquo;un c\u00f4t\u00e9 r\u00e9clame pendant que l&rsquo;autre \u00e9choue. Tout l&rsquo;\u00e9change se fait en quelques minutes sans jamais d\u00e9poser des fonds chez un tiers.<\/p>\n<h2>Exemple<\/h2>\n<p>Vous d\u00e9tenez 1 BTC et voulez 25 ETH d&rsquo;une contrepartie. Vous vous mettez d&rsquo;accord sur un taux et bloquez les fonds : 1 BTC dans un HTLC sur Bitcoin, 25 ETH dans un HTLC sur Ethereum. Un hash secret lie les deux contrats. Quand vous r\u00e9v\u00e9lez le secret pour r\u00e9clamer l&rsquo;ETH, la contrepartie apprend le secret depuis la r\u00e9v\u00e9lation on-chain et l&rsquo;utilise pour r\u00e9clamer le BTC. Si l&rsquo;une des parties n&rsquo;agit pas dans le minuteur (g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement 24 \u00e0 48 heures), les deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s remboursent automatiquement.<\/p>\n<h2>Pourquoi c&rsquo;est important<\/h2>\n<p>Les atomic swaps \u00e9liminent enti\u00e8rement le risque de contrepartie d&rsquo;exchange. Ils \u00e9taient la primitive DeFi originale avant que les market makers automatis\u00e9s ne deviennent dominants.
