L&rsquo;ordre attend dormant jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 ce que le march\u00e9 touche le d\u00e9clencheur. \u00c0 ce moment, il s&rsquo;active comme ordre limite au prix limite. Il s&rsquo;ex\u00e9cute \u00e0 la limite ou mieux, jamais pire. Si le march\u00e9 gappe \u00e0 travers la limite, l&rsquo;ordre ne s&rsquo;ex\u00e9cute pas, et la position d&rsquo;origine reste ouverte.<\/p>\n<h2>Exemple<\/h2>\n<p>Vous tenez un long EUR\/USD \u00e0 1,0856. Vous d\u00e9finissez un stop-limite avec d\u00e9clencheur 1,0820 et limite 1,0815. Le prix tombe \u00e0 1,0820 et active l&rsquo;ordre. Il vendra \u00e0 1,0815 ou mieux. Si le prix reste entre 1,0820 et 1,0815, vous \u00eates ex\u00e9cut\u00e9. Si le prix gappe de 1,0820 directement \u00e0 1,0810, votre ordre ne s&rsquo;ex\u00e9cute pas, et vous restez long pendant que le march\u00e9 continue de baisser. Vous avez abandonn\u00e9 la protection de gap en \u00e9change de ne pas vendre \u00e0 un prix de panique.<\/p>\n<h2>Pourquoi c&rsquo;est important<\/h2>\n<p>Le stop-limite est le bon choix quand vous voulez un niveau de stop mais refusez d&rsquo;accepter un slippage catastrophique dans un mouvement rapide. C&rsquo;est le mauvais choix quand la protection de baisse compte plus que le prix d&rsquo;ex\u00e9cution : dans un vrai crash, le stop-limite peut vous laisser avec la position.
