Une corr\u00e9lation de +1 signifie qu&rsquo;ils bougent ensemble, -1 qu&rsquo;ils bougent \u00e0 l&rsquo;oppos\u00e9, et 0 aucune relation. Le trading de corr\u00e9lation utilise ces liens : associer des actifs qui bougent ensemble, couvrir avec des actifs qui bougent \u00e0 l&rsquo;oppos\u00e9, ou parier qu&rsquo;une divergence inhabituelle entre deux march\u00e9s li\u00e9s va se r\u00e9sorber.<\/p>\n<h2>Exemple chiffr\u00e9<\/h2>\n<p>Deux majors p\u00e9troli\u00e8res bougent normalement ensemble avec une corr\u00e9lation proche de +0,9. Un jour, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 A bondit sur une nouvelle tandis que la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 B tra\u00eene, ouvrant un \u00e9cart inhabituel. Un trader de corr\u00e9lation pourrait acheter B et shorter A, pariant que la relation historique se r\u00e9affirme et que l&rsquo;\u00e9cart se referme, profitant de la convergence quel que soit le cours du p\u00e9trole. Le risque est que la corr\u00e9lation se soit vraiment cass\u00e9e, pas seulement \u00e9tir\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<h2>Pourquoi la corr\u00e9lation compte pour le risque<\/h2>\n<p>La corr\u00e9lation est aussi un risque cach\u00e9 dans tout portefeuille : d\u00e9tenir cinq positions tr\u00e8s corr\u00e9l\u00e9es, c&rsquo;est en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 un seul gros pari, car elles tomberont toutes ensemble dans un choc.
