Le PER trailing utilise les 12 derniers mois de BPA d\u00e9clar\u00e9. Le PER forward utilise les 12 prochains mois de BPA estim\u00e9 par analystes. Le trailing est concret mais r\u00e9trospectif ; le forward est pertinent mais d\u00e9pend d&rsquo;estimations souvent rat\u00e9es. Un PER de 20 signifie que le prix vaut 20 fois les b\u00e9n\u00e9fices annuels, impliquant un rendement b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiaire de 5 pour cent si la croissance est plate.<\/p>\n<h2>Exemple<\/h2>\n<p>Microsoft \u00e0 410 $ avec un BPA trailing de 11,50 $ a un PER de 35,6. Coca-Cola \u00e0 60 $ avec un BPA de 2,50 $ a un PER de 24. ExxonMobil \u00e0 115 $ avec un BPA de 9,50 $ a un PER de 12. Le chiffre plus bas n&rsquo;est pas automatiquement moins cher : les b\u00e9n\u00e9fices d&rsquo;Exxon d\u00e9pendent du prix du p\u00e9trole, donc le march\u00e9 les escompte. Microsoft se traite \u00e0 prime parce que les b\u00e9n\u00e9fices sont des revenus logiciels r\u00e9currents \u00e0 fortes marges.<\/p>\n<h2>Pourquoi c&rsquo;est important<\/h2>\n<p>Le PER est un filtre de d\u00e9part, pas un verdict. Utilisez-le relativement \u00e0 : la fourchette historique de l&rsquo;action, les pairs sectoriels, le taux de croissance attendu et le march\u00e9 global. La moyenne long terme du S&#038;P 500 est proche de 16 ; une action \u00e0 PER 30 paye pour la croissance, une action \u00e0 PER 8 est escompt\u00e9e pour le risque. Combinez le PER avec le PEG (PER divis\u00e9 par taux de croissance) pour ajuster aux profils de croissance diff\u00e9rents.
