Pour les positions courtes, le trader re\u00e7oit le benchmark sur le notionnel moins marge, moins un spread broker. Le carry net peut \u00eatre positif sur les shorts si les taux benchmark d\u00e9passent le spread broker. Les CFD d&rsquo;indices et mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res utilisent une formule similaire avec ajustements pour le co\u00fbt de financement du sous-jacent. Pour les paires de devises, le financement \u00e9gale le diff\u00e9rentiel de taux d&rsquo;int\u00e9r\u00eat.<\/p>\n<h2>Exemple<\/h2>\n<p>Un trader tient une position EUR\/USD longue de 100 000 $ avec 5 pour cent de marge (5 000 $). Si le taux overnight est de 5,3 pour cent (financement USD) et que l&rsquo;EUR paye 3,5 pour cent, le financement quotidien = (5,3 \u2212 3,5) \/ 360 \u00d7 100 000 $ = environ 5 $ par jour de d\u00e9bit. Tenu 30 jours, c&rsquo;est 150 $, soit 3 pour cent de la marge de 5 000 $. Sur une position courte, le trader re\u00e7oit \u00e0 la place le diff\u00e9rentiel. Pour les rollovers triple-jour (mercredi pour le Forex, comptant le weekend), le financement est multipli\u00e9 par 3.<\/p>\n<h2>Pourquoi c&rsquo;est important<\/h2>\n<p>Le financement overnight transforme une th\u00e8se court terme profitable en perdante si tenue trop longtemps. Les carry trades (long taux \u00e9lev\u00e9, short taux bas) sont profitables quand rien d&rsquo;autre ne bouge.
