Our Editorial Standards & Guidelines

ⓘ Our Commitment
Volity runs a trading platform and also publishes financial education. That creates a potential conflict of interest, and we’d rather name it than hide it. This page explains how we keep the editorial side honest with readers.
1. Content Creation Process
Every article on Volity goes through the same workflow before it’s published:
- Topics are picked based on what readers actually search for, not what would help us sell accounts
- Writers research from primary sources: regulatory filings, broker terms and conditions, and verified market data
- Every statistical claim is attributed to a named, publicly accessible source
- Drafts are read by a senior editor before they go live
- Promotional content is labelled clearly and kept separate from editorial
2. Author Qualification Requirements
Anyone writing for Volity has to clear minimum bars in their subject area:
- Financial writers need real experience: trading, financial journalism, or a relevant qualification (CFA, Series 65, or equivalent)
- Authors disclose any personal trading positions or financial relationships that could create bias
- New authors complete an editorial onboarding review before their first piece runs
- Every article carries a named byline. We don’t publish editorial content anonymously
3. Fact-Checking Procedures
Before Publication
- Every factual claim (fees, spreads, regulatory status, platform features) is checked against the primary source at the time of writing
- Regulatory licence numbers are looked up against the relevant authority’s public register
- A second editor reads anything fact-sensitive before it goes live
After Publication
- Comparison pages and broker reviews are audited at least every 90 days
- Readers can flag outdated information through the feedback link at the bottom of every article
- Confirmed errors are fixed within 48 hours and noted at the bottom of the article
4. Review & Approval Workflow
| Stage | Responsible | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Author | Research, write, self-check against sources |
| Fact Review | Senior Editor | Verify claims, check source links |
| Compliance Check | Compliance Lead | Confirm disclaimers and regulatory accuracy |
| Final Approval | Editor-in-Chief | Sign off before publication |
| Scheduled Audit | Editorial Team | 90-day review cycle for live content |
5. Corrections & Updates Policy
- Minor corrections (typos, formatting): fixed silently
- Factual corrections: fixed with a timestamped note at the bottom of the article saying what changed and why
- Significant errors: a correction notice goes at the top of the article as well as the bottom
- We don’t delete or unpublish articles to hide errors. Corrections stay on the page, permanently
- To report an error, write to
Content Type Review Frequency Broker & platform comparisons Every 90 days Regulatory & compliance information On regulatory change, or every 60 days Educational articles Every 6 months News & market commentary Not updated. Date-stamped at publication 7. AI Content Disclosure
Volity uses AI writing tools as part of how content gets produced. Here’s the policy:
- AI tools can help with drafting, summarising research, or improving readability
- Anything AI helps draft is reviewed, edited, and approved by a qualified human editor before it goes live
- AI-assisted text never gets published without human fact-checking and sign-off
- We don’t use AI to generate fabricated quotes, invented statistics, or fake expert opinions
- If AI did most of the drafting on a given article, that’s disclosed at the bottom of the article
8. Independence Statement & Conflict of Interest
Volity runs a trading platform and may earn revenue when readers open accounts through links on this site. Here’s how we keep that from bending the editorial:
- Editorial decisions (what to cover, how to rate platforms) are made independently of the commercial team
- Volity’s own platform is reviewed against the same criteria as everyone else in our comparisons
- Wherever Volity appears in a comparison, the page says so plainly
- No advertiser or partner can pay to influence editorial ratings, rankings, or review conclusions
- “Editor’s Choice” goes to whoever scores highest under our published criteria, not to whoever pays. See our Review Methodology
- A full conflict-of-interest disclosure appears at the bottom of every article and comparison page
