KYC / AML Policy

How Volity meets KYC and AML obligations

Volity, through UBK Markets Ltd, applies the requirements of EU 5AMLD, the Cyprus Prevention and Suppression of Money Laundering Activities Law, and CySEC AML directives. KYC is mandatory at onboarding and refreshed periodically; transaction monitoring is continuous; and reporting follows the procedures of the Cyprus Unit for Combating Money Laundering (MOKAS).

What documents are required for KYC?

A current government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID, or driving licence) and a proof of address dated within the last three months (utility bill, bank statement, official correspondence). For higher-deposit clients, source-of-funds documentation may be requested under the EU 5AMLD risk-based approach.

How long are KYC records kept?

A minimum of five years after the end of the business relationship, per 5AMLD Article 40 and Cyprus AML Law Article 68. Some categories (such as suspicious-activity reports) are kept longer where required by law. Records are stored securely with access limited to compliance staff and authorised regulators.
